About Katarungan Village
A community built on a name that means something.
Where the name comes from
Katarungan Village was established as a Department of Justice low-cost housing project, on land segregated from the New Bilibid Prison reservation in Barangay Poblacion, Muntinlupa City.
Katarungan is the Filipino word for justice — the same idea represented by the statue of Lady Justice, scales in hand, that stands at the village entrance.
The seal
The KVHAI seal carries the same idea forward — homes gathered together under a shared set of scales, representing a community governed fairly, by its own elected officers, in the name it was founded on.
The village today
Katarungan Village is governed by an elected Board of Directors and Officers serving a two-year term, with committees covering waterworks, security, finance, and the other day-to-day needs of the community. The current Board of Directors and Officers are listed on the home page.
